Design the new Phuza Thursday logo
5FM's Gareth Cliff is challenging his listeners to create a new Phuza Thursday logo which reflects that morning-after feeling to a T. The winning logo will be featured on the second edition range of Phuza Thursday t-shirts.
Since its inception on 5FM Mornings with Gareth Cliff, Phuza Thursdays have become a South African phenomenon, with even Wikipedia featuring the term. The first edition of Phuza Thursday t-shirts were released in 2007, with 5FM listeners going to great lengths to get their hands on these t-shirts.
There is no official prize - just bragging rights as the designer of the new, official Phuza Thursday logo and your own set of exclusive T-shirts - so get designing! The competition is open to design students, 5FM listeners and the general public. Logo designs should be submitted to
design@5fm.co.za before Friday, 5 September 2008.
5FM encourages all Phuza Thursday participants to drink responsibly. Says Cliff, “Phuza Thursday is not just about drinking, it's about indulging every now and then. We all work hard and deserve a break. Like Bra' Matthews, Phuza Thursday Shop Steward says - ‘Phuza, just don't drink and drive'. I agree."
